Farrah
Farrah (not her real name) is an Iraqi woman who has experienced war throughout most of her life. Various family members have been injured in explosions and shootings - she and her husband, for instance, were both injured when a gunman shot at their car, while her mother-in-law was blinded by an explosion at a supermarket. One of her brothers was kidnapped. Since leaving Iraq fearing for the safety of her family, she has lived in England for over two years. She shares her experience of war and her views of, and prayers for, peace during Remembrance Day as it is observed in Iraq.
