So is this why you came to England?Yes, sure, because I suffered too much in my country. I have many reasons to come here to England. I decided to go out of Iraq anywhere for safety, but my chance bring me to England and I thank my God. It’s a very good place, and very safe, for me and my kids. I feel happy here, better than in my country. I don't want to go back to my home, no I don't want.
What about if peace comes back to Iraq - then will you go back?
Yes, if peace comes back, then I will come back. Because I miss my family, my friends, my job - everything. My house - everything. But maybe I lose my life if I return. I don't want to lose my life.
Do we take peace for granted?
Here in England? Maybe - everybody don't know the value of peace, but if he go somewhere like Iraq and find the bombs and everything, he know exactly the meaning of peace. But if you live safely all your life, maybe you don't know the meaning of this word. Specially the last five years, I know exactly what you mean by peace now. Is a very great word and very important, for life, to live peacefully.
